Those of you who followed my old blog (V1, as I’m now calling it) might have wondered where I disappeared to a couple months ago. Simply put, during my summer away from MFA, I began concentrating more on my freelance work while I had available time. That’s been going well, and, based off of a few opportunities that have become available, I’ve decided to expand the reach of The Shaw Spot to cover not only my MFA work, but one of my favorite things about it (books) and one of my favorite things in general (craft beer). Hence, V2 is born.
That being said, in addition to writing about my MFA experience, I’m going to use The Shaw Spot to write about what’s worth reading, drinking, and doing in these two industries. V2 will be a place for content like this piece I wrote on beer floats or this review I wrote of Matthew Norman’s latest novel, and it will hopefully give you a tip or two regarding what you can drink, read, or enjoy. At the end of the day, though, it’s about drinking better beer, reading better literature, and living life to the fullest.
If you’re looking for a little more information on me and the type of writing I do, feel free to give me a shout out on social media, check out my About page, or take a look at my portfolio. If you’re looking for a freelancer or just wanting to chat beers and books, I’d love to talk. Cheers!
